By: Robert Sterling – SeaPRwire – Local car-wash memberships just became temporary. Club Car Wash has taken over Glide Xpress. Thirteen Mid-South sites will close for short renovations and reopen under a new brand. Pricing stays frozen only until the end of 2027. After that the numbers change. That fixed deadline is the real pressure on every existing member.

On 2 October 2026 Club Car Wash announced the acquisition of Glide Xpress Car Wash from Columbia, Missouri. The company will renovate thirteen stores across the Mid-South. President Collin Bartels stated the change is large for Glide customers. He said the firm is honored to continue the relationships, service and legacy of the previous business. He asked for patience during the transition and expressed confidence that customers will see why Club Car Wash stands out. Current Glide memberships will be honored. Plans and pricing remain unchanged through 31 December 2027. After that date they convert to Club Car Wash pricing. Each Glide location will close for a short renovation, typically three to five days, then reopen as Club Car Wash. Until renovation work begins the sites continue normal operations. Closure dates will be posted in advance at each store. At grand opening customers can enter a one-thousand-dollar giveaway and receive limited-time special offers. New members are promised an upgraded wash experience, advanced technology, premium amenities and complimentary interior cleaning tools. Member perks will appear in the Club Car Wash Mobile App. The company also lists friendly teams, community service initiatives and local partnerships. Further details are available at the Club Car Wash website page dedicated to the Glide transition.
The commercial test is retention after the pricing switch. Three-to-five-day closures are short enough that most volume can recover. The membership freeze until the end of 2027 buys time to move customers onto the new app and amenities. Once the freeze ends the only remaining lever is whether the upgraded experience and app perks offset the new price points. Track the share of Glide members who stay active past 1 January 2028. That single number will show whether the acquisition simply added stores or actually converted a local base.
