By: James Vance – SeaPRwire – Transportation design still breaks down at the handoff. Engineers run precise simulations. Then the files leave the room. Clients reply days later. Comments scatter across email threads. Revisions pile up. The specialist tools stay accurate. The process around them stays messy. That gap is the core problem InSTRATO now tries to close.

Transoft Solutions launched the web-based platform on October 1, 2026 from Vancouver. It targets transportation engineers, planners, and designers. The company frames it as the next chapter for AutoTURN Online. That product has delivered web-based swept path analysis since 2018. More than 110,000 practitioners have used it. AutoTURN Online now sits inside InSTRATO. It keeps the same simulation technology and vehicle libraries. Users who need advanced or custom vehicles are still pointed to the AutoTURN Pro desktop version. Beyond the existing module, InSTRATO adds Parking Design tools that apply built-in standards for faster layout work. It introduces a Collaboration space where teams share projects, collect stakeholder comments, manage feedback, and document revisions in one workspace. A Lab section lets users try features still in development and send comments back to the company. The interface has been refreshed for simpler navigation. File management now supports parent and subfolders. Steven Chan, VP of the Transportation Business Unit, stated that complex projects will depend on how people, technology, and ideas come together. He presented InSTRATO as one step toward that. The platform remains web-based and does not require CAD for the supported workflows. Transoft itself has operated since 1991. Its software reaches more than 150 countries and serves more than 100,000 customers across agencies, consulting firms, airports, and ports.
The commercial test is whether the new collaboration layer actually shortens the review cycle. The trusted simulation core is already proven. The added value sits in keeping the conversation and the design files in the same place. If project teams adopt the sharing and comment tools, fewer versions will bounce outside the system. If they continue to export and email, the platform becomes another login rather than a change in practice. Early signals will appear in how often Lab features convert into permanent modules and how cleanly parent-folder structures hold multi-stakeholder jobs. Watch the volume of completed reviews that stay inside InSTRATO. That single metric will show whether the platform moves work forward or simply reorganizes the same friction.
